Meet The Chef

Dustin Sze

Chef Sze’s obsession with pastry began with a “no.” Growing up in the Philippines, a persistent cough meant sweets were strictly off-limits—a restriction that only fueled his fascination with the artistry of sugar.
Though his early days were marked by a “comedy of errors”—from raw cakes to rock-hard bread—his persistence led him to earn his Red Seal in Baking and Pastry Arts in 2017. He then refined his technique within the world’s most elite kitchens, joining the prestigious brigade of Daniel Boulud at the Four Seasons Toronto before moving to London, England to work under Anne-Sophie Pic and her team at her 2 Michelin starred restaurant .
In 2020, Chef Sze joined Narenj as a founding member. Here, he has fused his French fine-dining pedigree with the vibrant profiles of Middle Eastern flavors.

“The Bakehouse is a reflection of my journey: always changing, and improving. Reimagining traditional flavors into something you won’t find anywhere else is a challenge, but seeing that connection when someone tries a dessert is why I love what I do.”

Today, he leads a dedicated team in creating pastries that are as technically innovative as they are culturally unique.
